The dual benefits of low-cost manufacturing and high labor productivity have inspired the Chutex Group to invest its fourth factory in Kunshan City’s Dingshan Lake Industrial Zone, a scenic spot that is conveniently located 60 km away from Shanghai as well as less than 200 km away from the container yard, consolidators and Pudong International Airport. With China’s entry into the World Trade Organization, the country has become one of the most competitive countries for manufacturing. In addition, excellent infrastructures in logistics and communications make this place an ideal manufacturing location for customers looking for expedited deliveries.

Chutex Group’s factory at Dingshan Lake was incorporated in 2003 and began production in spring, 2005. The facility is situated on a 200,000 square meter plot of land. The first phase of factory construction includes two factory buildings, a dormitory facility that can house over 4,000 people, and a double floor canteen facility. The total built-up area of the first phase is approximately 80,000 square meters, with a planned workfore of 5,000 by the end of 2008.

Similar to all of Chutex Group's factories, this factory employs advanced machineries, as well as modernized managerial, operational and logistical abilities with a complete dedication to quality control. The factory will include its own laundry, garment dyeing, printing and embroidery facilities to allow for better quality and production control. Likewise, to shorten the garment lead-time, we have collaborated with reputable and sizable fabric mills in China to leverage our geographical and logistical advantage, thereby ensuring that fabric delivery to our factory will be minimized to three days. Compared to our Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam factories, China's plant provides us with approximately four to seven days of lead-time advantage. Sailing time of approximately ten days from the Shanghai port to the United States further enables Chutex to facilitate rapid garment delivery to our customers' shops.

The existing factories are all rated “A” grade in our clients’ portfolios. With the first phase of Chutex Kunshan already in production, Chutex Group will continue to expand its production capabilities in order to meet the continued and growing patronage of its clients.
